Ever since Man Repeller introduced the term arm party to the blogosphere I've seen enormous amounts of bloggers who use it both where it should and shouldn't be used. They have embraced the trend so hard that now you can see the detailed photos of their arm parties in every other post. Now it got me to stop and think and reminisce for a while. Back in highschool I started wearing these massive cocktail rings on every finger of my hand. Loved shopping for them and they kind of accumulated over the years so now I have one pretty collection. From rhinestoned to metal to hardware to plastic ones, you name it - I have it. I would wear at least 10 of them on everyday! People would look at my hands and immediately classify me as uber kitsch. Who would've known there's gonna be a term for those kind of things and that layering and wearing ridiculous amounts of jewelry gonna evolve as a huge trend years later? I obviously subconsciously have. So now I guess I can borrow the fancy term, upgrade it a bit and say I'm wearing a finger party in the photos above.

Besides the statement rings , I also adore stacking the tiny ones. My default pattern would be: one massive ring on one finger followed by a few smaller ones on the other. And if I want to get really wild, I usually go for two cocktails and a stack of smalls on one hand and repeat that on the other. A far as color palettes, I try to stick to one tone on one hand, although I admit I often mix rose gold with yellow gold and silver with that silver-ish toned gold. When I'm going out with the heavy artillery described, I make sure I have a dry wash gel on me because taking all of those off just to wash your hands can take a while!
